The ShamRockers are an Irish band with a classic-rock
problem; merging
raucous Irish drinking songs with memorable rock tunes. The core of the band
hails from Normal Heights where they first met in the mid-seventies.
Over the last
thirty plus years, some of the faces have changed, but the focus remains the same:
to have a great time and play some great music.
Covering a variety of music from Irish traditional and
contemporary to 60's surf
tunes and classic rock n' roll, the ShamRockers band loves to get out and
just
play - for as long as they can stand and as much as they can remember. The
ShamRockers feature: Terry Daly (mandolin, vocals), Bob Redelings (lead
guitar),
Don Hickox (fiddle), Moises Ortiz (accordion, keyboards, trumpet), Kevin
Daly
(bass), Gil Koury (guitar, vocals), Jim Brown (drums, percussion) and
occasionally
Mike Daly (harmonica) and Brendan Daly (guitar, vocals).
The ShamRockers started performing in the third San Diego
St.
Patrick's Day Parade in Balboa Park. Since that time, the ShamRockers have
grown into a versatile band with a wide ranging repertoire performing in a
variety of venues throughout San Diego.
